why is this summer so weird?

(alternate title: why can't I remember whether the I or the E comes first in weird? thank goodness for spellcheck)

blog peeps, I apologize for not being around. its the same apology I've had to give friends and family lately, too. work stinks and this summer its been way more than a full time job. there's no sense complaining, as I know I'm lucky to be employed, but I have had to put a few fun things on the back burner while I make sure the rent gets paid. it is what it is and this too shall pass.

i'm finally catching up on my blog reading while we are on a low-budget low-stress vacation and i'm feeling a little quiver of inspiration again. no promises, no pressure, but I hope to be back in the blogging seat sooner rather than later.

in the meantime, here's a souvenir from vacation - apparently Murray's Army and Navy has had some interesting visitors...
